“a vocal powerhouse”
Ola Rafalo, a burgeoning Verdian Mezzosoprano of our time, has illuminated stages internationally over the past 10 years. She set the stage aflame as the title role of Carmen in numerous productions, and wowed the critics with her vocal mastery in all of the Verdi mezzo repertoire. Rafalo has consistently distinguished herself inside the opera house, as well as through the excellence of her students, cultivating the next generation of artists.

Fate without caricature."-stlstagesnaps
"Dramatic mezzo Ola Rafalo sounds impressive as the sorceress Ulrica. A Verdi specialist, she infuses this stock character with an impressive stage presence."-St.LouisArts
"Ola Rafalo captivates as the fortune teller and consort of demons; her clear, distinct voice and trance-like dance are almost hypnotic, and the audience is as easily caught up in her dark magic as the performers."-Mound city messenger
